I think Goose has a special sign 'NO CROCODILES !'
and it works fine-there are no crocodiles. |

I just discovered that I inadvertantly started a new thread when I posted what I intended as a reply to your thread the other day. So I'll just repost it in the right place.
Goose I am really enjoying seeing so much more of your garden. I don't have any but I enjoy seeing palms in gardens and it certainly looks like you have the space for them. Your creek appears to be natural and your pond looks large enough for a swim on a nice day.
Nice to meet your pup too. Nice colors. The plant he is standing beside, the odd looking bit with the long undulating leaves has just become available here in California in the last several years. Is it native to your area I wonder. I understand the folliage changes to something more common with age. I have a couple of Queensland Bottle Trees which do the same thing (Brachichiton reptans I believe).
Goose, if you have an older thread on which you have more extensive photos of your garden I wonder if you could put a connector as Jack just did to aid those of us who are technologically challenged to catch up?
Thanks for the tour!

Crocodiles22 Nov '08 7:34 pm
Hi, It seems that I made somewhat of a laughingstock of myself with my question about crocodiles. Well, in Belize they live in ponds and occasionally move from pond to pond to get food, so I thought that since in Australia there are saltwater crocs, there might be freshwater ones, too. AND that ducks would seem to be a natural prey for them. Who knew? I've never seen a croc. outside of a zoo!!
Oh, well, if I made some folks laugh, I brightened up their day, and that's all right!
Cheers!

It's OK Gordon, those of us who live in the Southern Hemisphere are used to this sort of thing and are about it.
But I hope Goose hasn't gone away for a few days. |

Spikey plants & Crocs23 Nov '08 10:08 am
Hi everyone, great to read all your comments thanks.
Dixie - you are very observant, I didnt even realise the bricks were in the photo. Nothing as exciting as a winding path tho. I am using them as edging for my gardens out the front. I need to get back to that job.
Mark - The spikey plant (I guess you mean the tall one) is a Native Pseudopanax. I do have an older thread or two I'll see if I can find them for you.
Gordon - Crocs - I would get a great shock if I saw a croc in the pond. I have changed my avatar profile to see if that helps. |

Goose! I thought you were in Australia!! Yikes! Am I blind, or what?? I guess there wouldn't be any crocs there! Sorry about that!
Now, if there IS anyone out there who has a duckpond in Australia, please tell me that I'm not completely crazy - aren't there fresh-water crocs there??
Oh boy!
