I sympathise about the cedar decision.
What cute new residents for your garden!

As I thought the cedar was to go,I left the maintenance on the fairy garden,as I knew it would be crushed. However,Smiley hasn't been very well,so we are leaving the cedar where it is for the present and I have had a big job tidying the garden again. This is yesterday's work.At first I used to try to pull out the grass that grew there, but then decided to let it go,and now trim it with scissors. It gives a grassy bank to sit on anyway

I never noticed the 'head board' before. Very clever. The colors of all the painted bits look very fresh. Your grandkids must love this. Thanks for the idea of clipping the grass instead of yanking it. There is an area where grass grows just below my corner deck. It is a pain to keep yanking it and you're right. By clipping it I'll have an inviting bank to sit on.
I was headed out to the garden when I got waylayed by the impulse to burn a new CD with some of my favorite classical music. I've been replaying a lot of folk and rock so much that I'm tired of it. Next thing you know, I'm checking my email. Well at least I'm catching up on the news from the folks at Moosey Central.
If Spring is as far along in your corner as in Jack's it must be nice. Here we're sunny and things have that overgrown, tatty look they get at the end of the season. Just about time for regeneration I'd say. Thanks for the show.

A new little bridge13 Oct '08 11:40 am
Two weeks ago,Ella came to stay while her Mummy was competing in an event in the south island. She was playing outside when I heard a noise.I looked out the window to see a little figure scampering away from the fairy garden.Later I had a look and found that the lime green'bridge' was broken-perhaps she had tried to climb on it.It had been made from old found timber anyway.Smiley decided to make a new one and here it is nearly in place.Of course I just could not leave it undecorated.
I will post when it is all in place.

The replacement bridge looks lovely. I just noticed your tortoise. Did you paint it? I've seen a lot of those in the garden centres this spring, but glazed and in more subdued colours. How did your daughter's team do?

The new bridge went in today.I painted all the little creatures in the garden,Macflax. They were bought as plain concrete ornaments....I think I was born with a paintbrush in each hand.

Great bridge, Dixie! And I'll bet that THIS one won't break like the other one did, eh?
Cheers!

Oh how lovely! Your garden looks so beautiful and lush. Does the path go very far or is it just made to look that way? It certainly looks like it's inviting one to explore.

Hello Dixie,
Your new bridge is lovely (as are all your projects). I like the light blue color and the pretty accents make it fit right in with the fairy garden theme. I also like the new views we got from different angles. It gave me more insight to the placement of the fairy garden. I had not realized it was next to the courtyard area below your sweeping stairway. I hope you are enjoying your garden to it's fullest this spring.

Dixie, the new bridge is gorgeous, but I suspect I would have liked the old one as well. I do so love a decorated garden. Thank you.
