Double clematis
7 Jul '08 8:08 am I've never seen one looking like this, but maybe this is how they bred some of those double-layered types This is a lovely colour - which clematis is this?

7 Jul '08 8:07 pm Beautiful. A clematis is on my wishlist for spring. Will I be able to stop at one though? May I ask what yours is growing on?

Nature's little quirks
15 Jul '08 6:44 am That's really neat. I have a hydrangea bush that sends out little flowers from the centers of the flower. I bought it in a grocery store and it was called "Shooting Stars". I have no idea what it's latin name might be. The flowers are white and it is very pretty when the little "stars" shoot out of the middle. I don't have a picture unfortunately. It hasn't bloomed in two years because of our draught last year. Maybe next year.

15 Jul '08 3:30 pm Silly me. I was so captivated by the clematis I didn't realise before that it's one inside another. Now I see it.

No fair, you posted when I was away.
31 Jul '08 2:15 pm I love this clematis! If you discover the name I'd really like to know it. Unfortunately I've managed to kill off all but one that I've planted through the years.
Here is another flower within a flower. This is a yellow Epi that bloomed earlier this year.
